The report highlights the team’s successes in accelerating the adoption of proven healthcare technologies and spreading these innovations across the system, working with its partners in medtech, academia, business, the NHS and the wider public to improve people’s health.
In the past year Eastern AHSN has seen:
- 27,963 patients benefit from its screenings and interventions in the region;
- 518 companies supported through sessions and 1:1 support
- £23.8m funding leveraged for health innovation
- 187,494 people benefit from awareness and involvement in its projects to transform and improve healthcare
The review also highlights Eastern AHSN’s future priorities, a new feature of which this year is working with the Office for Life Sciences. The team’s mission is to develop innovation exchanges to address particular challenges, including tackling the complex issues surrounding mental health.
Piers Ricketts, Chief Executive Officer, says in the report: “We are hugely fortunate to be located in one of the most vibrant health and life sciences communities in the world, and we look forward to making a proportionate and distinctive contribution to the major health issues facing our region and the NHS as a whole.”
