Mental Health Hackathon – giving young people the chance to shape future health services

February 17, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Eastern AHSN is running a Mental Health Hackathon for young people aged 14-25 who want to shape and improve health services in their local community.

We are holding the event in order to meet young people with an interest in healthcare across the Eastern region, and we hope the hackathon will help us to recruit new youth members to the East of England Citizens’ Senate.

The event will be managed by Form the Future CIC, and will be hosted by the Sanger Institute in the Discovery Zone on the Wellcome Genome Campus, outside of Cambridge.

Helen Oliver, Director of Network Leadership at Eastern AHSN, said: “We wanted a way to engage with young people across the Eastern region who feel strongly about our health services and who are eager to influence how they develop.

“The focus on mental health reflects a subject of great concern to people in this age group and we believe the hackathon will give them a chance to deploy their creativity and ingenuity in a really productive way.”

The Hackathon is open to young people aged 14-25 living in Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. There is no charge to attend and lunch and refreshments are provided by the Sanger Institute.
