Eastern AHSN would like to congratulate the winners of the recent HSJ Awards 2017 that took place on 22 November.
The awards recognised and celebrated the finest achievements in the NHS from across the country, in a number of different categories from ‘CCG of the Year’ to ‘Innovation in Mental Health’.
The East of England was well represented at the Awards, with Tom Cahill of Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation Trust winning ‘Chief Executive of the Year’.
The category was judged against a criteria which included ambition, outcome, spread, value and involvement to find an individual who handled the challenges of an NHS trust chief executive with aplomb – with Mr Cahill coming out on top.
He was praised by judges as an authentic and inspirational leader, putting service users at the centre of his organisation’s work.
Other winners from the East of England region included James Paget University Hospital which took the award for ‘Patient Safety’ and West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust which won the ‘Workforce’ award – representing the excellent contribution that our region makes.
