The Optimising Medicines for Adults With Type 2 Diabetes e-learning package has been designed in partnership between Eastern AHSN and PrescQIPP to support clinicians to implement NICE guidance on managing type 2 diabetes in adults, with a particular focus on optimising the use of medicines to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.

It is has been designed for:

  • practice nurses

  • GPs and any clinician with an interest in the management of patients with type 2 diabetes.

What does the e-learning package cover?

The package consists of seven modules covering all aspects of NICE guidance on the management of type 2 diabetes in adults and three case studies to test understanding and to demonstrate application of the guidance to clinical practice.

Each module has information and links to other resources which support the delivery of high quality diabetes care, and the rational and effective use of medicines.

How do I access the e-learning package?

The package can be accessed free of charge by all NHS professionals, and if you don’t already have a PrescQIPP account, you can register for one, using your NHS email address here.

After logging in with your details, you can access the course from the Type 2 Diabetes webkit and from the link under the ‘Learn’ top menu.
